Discover the life of Christ
Discipleship
With a class size of 6-10 students, you will receive personal mentorship, instruction and coaching on what it means to experience the abundant life of Christ today. Join our Camp Family for 7 months and learn how to engage in your own discipleship as well as how to disciple others.
Bible Study
Come prepared with your questions as we dig into God's Word with resident and guest teachers. The small group, tutorial type setting allows for lots of personal interaction and discussion. Topics include (but are not limited to): Character & Revelation of God, Who is Jesus?, Foundations of Salvation, The Holy Spirit & Prayer, Servant Leadership, Cross-Cultural Missions.
Servant Leadership
You will be given opportunities to develop leadership skills in both program and operational roles as you are coached and mentored by our year round staff team. Students can expect to serve at up to 10 retreats in Fall and 10 retreats in Winter with a variety of job experiences that range from behind the scenes food service and facilities to up front hosting and program leading.
Multi-Cultural Experiences
You will work with people of all ages and from different cultures and backgrounds as God brings many diverse retreat groups to Camp. You will learn from local Christian Indigenous leaders and listen to their stories. You will receive training and preparation for an overseas mission trip to Ecuador in March.
Travel & Missions
Expect to be inspired by God's creation and the adventure of seeing His work in various ministry settings. Whether it's a camping trip in Ontario or a trip to New York City or working with youth in Ecuador, you will see some of the ways God is at work in this world and His invitation for you to join Him.
How does the Crossroads Discipleship Program work?
Overview & Program Fees
The CDP is a 7 month experience from September to March. Each week will involve some element of Bible Study and practical service but the schedule will vary depending on the groups we are serving at Camp. Most often the program will require students to serve on the weekends with Monday as a day of rest.
Students can also choose to sign up for The Fall Term and Winter Term separately if they are not able to join for the full program.
Fall Term A – Service Focus (Friday, September 5 to Friday, October 10, 2025)
- The first 6 weeks of the Fall Term have more concentrated opportunities for practical training in servant leadership as we host multiple mid-week and weekend retreat groups at Camp Crossroads.
- Students are trained for practical service in hospitality and debrief their experiences with year round staff.
- Service could include assisting with dining hall duties, cleaning of facilities, work on the grounds, leading guests through program activities (such as leading hikes on our forest trails, leading wide games, team building events, fire building, etc.) or serving in our local community.
- Travel Highlight: Multi-day wilderness experience provided by Coldwater Canada.
Thanksgiving Weekend Break (Friday, October 10 to Monday, October 13, 2025)
Fall Term B – Study Focus (Tuesday, October 14 to Saturday, December 6, 2025)
- The 6 weeks after Thanksgiving have a more concentrated focus on Bible Study with guest teachers during the week as our retreat groups wind down.
- Bring your questions and come looking for answers as you sit down with experienced Bible teachers in a small group setting.
- Travel Highlight: Look forward to having your world view expanded as students head down to New York City to join an Impact Week with Metro World Child, visit the 9/11 Memorial, and more!
Christmas Break (Saturday, December 6, 2025 to Monday, January 5, 2026)
Winter Term – Leadership Focus (Monday, January 5 to Friday, March 27, 2026)
- In January and February students have classes from Tuesday to Thursday and then take on increased leadership roles during our weekend winter retreats.
- Visit our Winter page here for more information on our Deep Freeze, Winter Blast and Family Snow Camp retreats.
- Students will have the chance to add their creative flare to our programs to give our retreaters an unforgettable experience of winter fun at Camp!
- Travel Highlight: the winter term will include training and preparation for a 2 week cross-cultural mission trip to serve at a Christian youth camp in Ecuador called Faro de Esperanza.
Program Fees & Fundraising
The program costs are broken into two portions:
- $7000 (+HST) in fees to cover 6 months of room and board and program expenses.
- The cost of the program is reduced because of the service the students contribute as they put into practice the principles they are learning in the classroom.
- The Fall Term alone is $4000 (+HST)
- The Winter Term alone is $3500 (+HST)
- Additional fundraising roughly $2800 per person- Students will be asked to assist in fundraising to cover the costs of the missional components of the program (i.e. New York and Ecuador trips)
- Instruction and resources for this fundraising goal will be supplied upon acceptance into the program.
